Robert and I just celebrated our 10 year anniversary with a quick getaway to Beaufort, SC and Hilton Head Island!
Here's what we did and where we ate!
Beaufort, SC
We started our trip in beautiful Beaufort, SC in the heart of the lowcountry. I fell in love with Beaufort several years ago when we first visited and I couldn't get over how beautiful all of the live oaks were draped in spanish moss...dreamy!
For our night in Beaufort, Robert made us dinner reservations at the Breakwater Restaurant in the heart of Historic Beaufort. It was a delicious meal! We both got the charred Caesar wedge (highly recommend!) and the fried chicken (I also highly recommend). It was SO good!
The next day we ate breakfast at our precious Bed & Breakfast -- The Rhett House Inn. It was delicious! Then we walked over to Herban Market for coffee and pastry. Their Vegan lemon blueberry donuts are AMAZING!
After walking around Beaufort that morning, we decided to grab lunch at Lowcountry Produce -- a must visit in Beaufort! It's both a restaurant and a cute store with lots of local items. We've eaten there twice now, and both times the food was DELICIOUS! They have breakfast & lunch items on their menu. Last time I got the eggs bennedict, but this time I got the Ooey Gooey with fried chicken and bacon and the broccoli slaw... TO. DIE. FOR. Y'ALL. I highly recommend it! Our waiter also recommended getting the jelly on the side so I could try both the strawberry jelly and the garlic pepper jelly...both were wonderful! My meal is pictured below!

Hilton Head
After our lunch we drove over to Hilton Head Island where we spent the remainder of our trip! We stayed at the Omni so that we could be just steps from the beach. It was wonderful!
Our first night in Hilton Head we ate at Skull Creek Dockside! This is a new favorite for us. If you're a HHI regular and haven't tried it yet, it's located between Hudsons and Skull Creek Boathouse. We've eaten at Dockside a few times now, and I can say that their Meatloaf is amazing... I've gotten it multiple times! Random fact about me-- I'm allergic to shellfish, so I love it when we can find a restaurant that has great seafood for Robert but also delicious dishes for me, as well! Dockside definitely fits that bill. They have delicious mixed drinks along with great appetizers-- try the hushpuppies and the fried pickles and okra! You won't regret it ;) The view of the marsh there is also beautiful...especially at sunset! Great food & a great view...you can't go wrong! (Did I mention there's a playground for the kids if you have to wait? 10/10 in our book!)
(above) This is the view of Skull Creek Dockside at night looking back at it from the pier that is on the water. We sat under all of the lights on the patio for our dinner and looked out over the water. Isn't it beautiful?
The next day we ate at Jane's Bistro for lunch, and it was phenomenal! We had heard great things about this place, but we weren't sure that it was kid friendly, so we decided to try it this time since we didn't have the kiddos in tow! I'd definitely say it isn't one of the kid-friendliest places on the island. BUT the food was delicious! I got a greek salad with chicken and Robert got the chicken salad sandwich... I'd recommend both and would get them again! The chicken on the greek salad was tender and seasoned really well and the salad dressing was phenomenal. I only tried a bite of Robert's chicken salad sandwich, but it was delicious, as well!
For dinner that evening we had burgers from CharBar, and while the atmosphere isn't as spectacular as the other restaurants...it's still a nice restaurant & the food is delicious! I got their Backyard Burger with the homemade onion rings...it was amazing!
We've gotten takeout from this place in the past, too, and it's always good!
(above) A pretty terrible photo of my burger... I was so hungry that I didn't take the time to get a great photo!
When we weren't eating in HHI, we spent a few hours shopping over at Shelter Cove Towne Center, we got ice cream at Kilwins, and then we spent a lot of time relaxing on the beach and by the pool! It was a wonderful little getaway, and I already want to go back, ha!
If you can't tell, we LOVE the lowcountry, and we have a few scents in our Year Round Collection that are inspired by the lowcountry. If you love the south, too, check them out!
